چکیده
With a distinct electronic structure and unsaturated coordination centers, supported single-atoms (SAs) have shown great potential in heterogeneous catalysis due to their superior activity, stability, selectivity. Over the last few years, fascination of SA-use spread also over photocatalysis, i.e., particular case which chemical reactions are activated by charge transfer from an illuminated semiconductor. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is one most studied photocatalytic materials. It widely used as light absorbing semiconductor decorated with metallic (nanoparticles single-atom) co-catalysts. In current review, we emphasize role SAs co-catalyst clearly set it apart use single atoms classic catalysis. The review first briefly describes principal features SAs, gives overview important examples single-atom Then, discuss photocatalysis key co-catalysts on TiO2 photocatalysts applications. At last, provide outlook for further exploring TiO2-based systems.

Bactericidal mode of titanium dioxide photocatalysis
When exposed to near-UV light, titanium dioxide (TiO2) exhibits a strong bactericidal activity. However, the killing mechanism(s) underlying the TiO2 photocatalytic reaction is not yet well understood. The aim of the present study is to investigate the cellular damage sites and their contribution to cell death. A sensitive approach using o-nitrophenol β-D-galactopyranoside (ONPG) as the probe a...
متن کاملGraphyne-supported single Fe atom catalysts for CO oxidation.
Single atom catalysts (SACs) are highly desirable for the effort to maximize the efficiency of metal atom use. However, the synthesis of SACs is a major challenge that largely depends on finding an appropriate supporting substrate to achieve a well-defined and highly dispersed single atom. This work demonstrates that, based on the density functional theory (DFT) calculation, graphyne is a good ...
متن کاملReactivity of Trapped and Accumulated Electrons in Titanium Dioxide Photocatalysis
Electrons, photogenerated in conduction bands (CB) and trapped in electron trap defects (Tids) in titanium dioxide (TiO2), play crucial roles in characteristic reductive reactions. This review summarizes the recent progress in the research on electron transfer in photo-excited TiO2. Particularly, the reactivity of electrons accumulated in CB and trapped at Tids on TiO2 is highlighted in the red...
متن کاملDegradation of Phenol in Water by Titanium Dioxide Photocatalysis
The photocatalytic degradation of phenol in a static-batch photoreactor, using a UV lamp as a light source and TiO 2 as a photocatalyst, was investigated. The effects of various parameters, such as photocatalyst dosage, initial substrate concentration, reaction pH and addition of oxidants, on the phenol degradation rate of TiO 2 photocatalysis were examined. The degradation rates proved to be s...
متن کاملIron and cobalt co-doping of single crystalline titanium dioxide
Single-crystals of TiO2 rutile were co-implanted with iron and cobalt to investigate the interplay between the role of these ions and their influence in the magnetic properties of the system. In the co-implanted crystals, both ions were implanted with the same nominal fluence, 5 × 10 16 cm -2 , and an implantation energy of 150 keV. The as-implanted single crystals exhibited superparamagnetic b...
